I have been licensed to practice psychology in Oregon since 1984. I am also credentialed by the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. I am a member of the American Psychological Association and the Oregon Psychological Association.
I worked in in-patient settings from 1984 to 1990 in both California and Oregon. Since then I have had an out-patient practice in SE Portland. My practice includes individual therapy, marriage and family and the integration of personal belief systems and mental health.
The focus of my individual treatment is cognitive-behavioral, psycho-dynamic and solution focused. I coordinate my treatment with prescribers in the Portland-Vancouver area and like to work closely with Family Practice doctors.
In addition to providing direct psychological services I have provided supervision to individual clinicians and staff at psychiatric hospitals.
In 1995-1996 I worked in England for the National Health Service providing individual therapy and supervision to other clinicians. During that time I opened a pain management program with an anesthesiologist. Since that time a portion of my practice has involved services to chronic pain patients.
Populations I serve include individuals 18 and over. I specialize in areas of depression, anxiety, marriage and family and health related conditions. My clients include people with issues ranging from life choice decisions, depression, bi-polar disorder, chronic pain, PTSD and abuse issues.
In additional to my formal training in cognitive-behavioral therapy I have done several classes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help people with acceptance of change and emotional control.
